Phillip Zachary is the current Prince of Malta and commissioner of the Vindex Basketball Association, and former Vinish military officer, statesman, entrepreneur, who served as the first Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces from 2015 to 2016. Appointed by President Christian Silversmith, he was tasked to establish an organized Army, later authorizing the creation of the Vindex Nation Navy under command of Fleet Admiral Noah Turnet. Zachary has been called the "Father of the Military" for his manifold leadership in the military's founding.
Zachary's first public office, in 2015, was as Director of White House Military Office under the operational leadership of Vice President Collin Heralds. Later, he received a special appointment by the president to suppress the increasing rebel aggression. His office was removed following the establishment of the office of Secretary of Defense, and subsequently received a commission as General of the Army.
Zachary played an important role as the first Governor of Viridis, establishing state departments and agencies dedicated to further the welfare of Viridisians. During his tenure, he also established a census and administered a business registry intended to maintain a record of state affairs. He also oversaw the annexation of Prussia under the state of Viridis.
Early Life (2014-2015)
The Zachary family were immigrants who came from a far away land which was devastated by famine and disease. Many of its early family members who came and settled in Vindex Nation started out as potato farmers. Phillip Zachary Jr. was born on May 22, 1992, at Downtown in Vindex City, Viridis, and was the first of four children.
After graduating from the University of Viridis with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), he founded his company which was called Sherlock Industries, now known as Sherlock Enterprises. He partnered up with (Callwarrior) and embarked on his first business endeavor, Shercall, which designs, manufactures, and sells move craft airplanes. He later invited a popular engineer (Buttertwins) to join his firm as a stakeholder and head of its defense section, spearheading the production of fighter aircrafts and missiles. His success in aviation manufacturing led him to establish his second firm under the parent company, Vinish Airways.
After suggesting the creation of detectives to President Silversmith, he became the first person to take the detective exam. He took charge of many cases that led to the exposure of organized crime in the nation, including the first ever publication of an underground mafia that ran deep in Seawall City.
Military Career (2015-2017)
The enlistment of his close friend Sergeant (Buttertwins) and the leadership of Captain Seth Kraid inspired Zachary to seek enlistment in the Vindex Nation Army. He worked closely under Captain Kraid and received training from Sergeant (turtlc). His dedication to service led him to become the first promoted officer and subsequently the first to hold all officer ranks (excluding Captain).
Supreme Commander
After serving as General for a while, President Silversmith finally commissioned Zachary as Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. He oversaw the first construction in Fort Irwin and ordered the creation of new camps as well as adequate living quarters, office spaces, a medical bay, and a security wing which included a detention cell and an interrogation room. He also established the first units in the V.N. Army which included the three oldest divisions: Infantry Division, and Medical Command (MEDCOM), and Intelligence & Security Command (INSCOM). After being given a proposal by Noah Turnet, a coast guard officer, he authorized the creation of the V.N. Navy under Turnet's command.
Battle of Shephard Island
Following President Silversmith's appointment of (ultiment9) as the second Secretary of Defense, the position of Supreme Commander was deemed to be futile and the position was abolished. Zachary was then commissioned as General of the Army. During his tenure, tension continue to increase between Secretary of Defense (ultiment9) and the Shephards. Zachary voiced his criticism against the unfounded detestation of the Shephards. Prior to the invasion of Shephard Island, the V.N. Army Intelligence & Security Command found Ryan O'Leary, possibly under the influence of Secretary (ultiment9), to be conspiring to initiate an act of genocide against the Shephards.
This incident was reported to Zachary, which later informed the leaders of the Shephards. Subsequently, under the orders of (ultiment9), Zachary lead a military operation to squash the Shephards at their island which resulted in a Vinish victory and the execution of Omar Shephard. In the days of the aftermath, he was sacked from office by (ultiment9). The discorteous sacking of a long-time military veteran and what many considers as the father of the military resulted in a massive outcry across the nation. The Shephards, despite being a losing beligirent in a war which was led by Zachary, carried out protests outside of Fort Irwin. Multiple generals including General Constant N. Hunter (constantinos2), General (Mikester97), General Snake (rattlesnakee), General (FairyPug), General (flowerotto), and General (snoopyfun) pledged to Zachary that they are prepared to resign in protest.
However, Zachary advised them to not conduct a mass resignation as it will lead to a collapse of the military resulting in the immediate loss of stability. Following major protests, Zachary was reinstated in the V.N. Army as a general. Colonel Ian Shaw (Brenann), which was among the first batch of drill sergeants selected by Zachary, was appointed by (ultiment9) to succeed Zachary despite his lack of experience as an officer.
Security Command
Zachary advised Ian Shaw to create a law enforcement arm in the V.N. Army which would be responsible for conducting military policing, counterintelligence, and military correctional services. With approval from Secretary (Fairy_Pug), the V.N. Army Security Command was established under the leadership of General Zachary. During his service, he strengthened the internal security of the army by identifying spies. He also uncovered corrupt practices in the V.N. Army Special Operations Command which involves its leadership, General (sprinklesdude). He discovered that the commanding general of the 75th Rangers Regiment, General Zephyr, was involved in dealings with the Mafia to sell sensitive military information and access to military assets which resulted in his dishonorable discharge. During his time, he also investigated General Dante Holt (PurgePlanet) for his involvement with illegal narcotics which resulted in his dishonorable discharge. Zachary worked with Shaw to create the first Uniformed Code of Military Justice and was responsible for the creation and advancement of the Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps.
In the closing days of 2017, reflecting back into his long time military service and his desire to advance his career as a civilian and pursue politics, Phillip Zachary resigned from the V.N. Army and gave a last emotional salute to the V.N. flag at Fort Bragg.
