The Judicial Branch of Vindex Nation is one of the three branches of the federal government of Vindex Nation. The judiciary consists of the Supreme Court and the District Courts of Vindex Nation.
The Federal Judiciary Act of 2023 establishes the jurisdiction of such courts, duties of respective judges or justices, and the subsequent administration of such courts through the Judicial Conference and dedicated offices. This legislation repealed The Supreme Court Act of 2022.
Courts
Supreme Court of Vindex Nation
The Supreme Court of Vindex Nation holds all appellate jurisdiction from all final decisions of the District Courts. Cases may be reviewed by the Supreme Court by writ of certiorari granted upon the petition of any party to any civil or criminal cases, before or after rendition of judgement or decree. The Supreme Court holds no specified original jurisdiction.
District Courts of Vindex Nation
The District Courts of Vindex Nation are the general trial courts which holds original jurisdiction over most matters, as specified within The Federal Judiciary Act.
Judges
All judges and justices are appointed by the President of Vindex Nation with the consent of the Senate of Vindex Nation to serve until they resign, retire, or are impeached and convicted.
Administration
- The Judicial Conference of Vindex Nation is the policymaking body of the Judicial Branch. The conference is responsible for prescribing general rules of practice, procedure, and rules of evidence for cases in all courts. Such rules must be in accordance with all acts of Congress. The body is also responsible for internally investigating the conduct of judges and justices.
- The Administration Office of the Vindex Nation Courts is led by an independent Director of Administration. Such office is directly responsible to the Judicial Conference. The Administrative Office is responsible for the judiciary's budget, the operation of court facilities, clerical and administration staff, and Vindex Bar Association.
