Gregoria (Gregoriana), officially the People's Republic of Gregoria (Surk Iiv'xa Aati er Gregoriana), is an island country located in the seas of Vindexcraft. Its largest city and capital is Kalulu and the current population has not yet been documented by the government or other outside entities. It's official language is Gregoriasun and the current leader of the nation is Reapers Blood (also the founding father). Its official national anthem is Lachuku ty kladfi, lachuku ty uui (Together we stand, together we fall).

Etymology

The name of the nation originally comes from the Gregorian translation "Gregoriana", which is a compound word in Gregoriasun meaning Gregorian land with Gregori meaning Gregorian (ethnic people and citizens) and ana meaning land.

History

The nation started out when the founding father and native of the nation Reapers Blood, decided to find home for his comrades and for his communist party and decided to set home on an island he was born on that served as the grounds for his nation, that no other country has used for territory. He and his comrades built the city of Kalulu from the ground up and built more territory on more native Gregorian islands that have either been uninhabited for a long time, served as ports or colonies for other nations, or were also native Gregorian islands. Gregoria became an official country when Reapers announced he was forming his own nation with it's own independence. Other nations sought to seek out Gregoria on it's plans and have threatened or libeled the nation of Gregoria if it would not properly reveal itself. Gregoria has since been bombed by other nations and also from other rogue citizens of other nations, but Reapers has kept it going and strong and Gregoria is still a strong nation today.

Geography

Gregoria has many islands that are dispersed throughout certain continents of the world of Vindexcraft and its locations are unknown. Gregoria has a wide range of climate spanning from humid, to freezing cold temperatures. It has nice forest biomes and even has nice mountain tops.

Politics

Gregoria is a Unitary Marxist-Leninist One Party Socialist Republic since it's founding and independence, and its main body of government is the Communist Party of Gregoria, it's the oldest and only current living socialist republic in Vindexcraft. It also has two autonomous regions that has their own form of government and handles its own affairs except: military, and foreign relations.

The legislature of the People's Republic of Gregoria is the National People's Congress of Gregoria. Legislative sessions are often held in the capital of Kalulu in the legislative building called The Great People's Hall of Gregoria.

Economy

Gregoria's official currency is the Gregorian Fruuka, and its main source of economy is from industry, agriculture, and fishing. Gregoria's total GDP is 50.6 trillion Gregorian Fruukas and 35,781 Gregorian Fruukas per capita.

Demographics

Gregoria is one of the most populated nations in Vindexcraft and its most populated city is Kalulu. The official demonym of the people is Gregori and the main language is Gregoriasun.

Languages

Gregoria's only official language is Gregoriasun and it is spoken by 89% of the population, while 11% speak English or speak English and Gregoriasun. English is only used as a lingua franca for business and foreign related purposes. Immigrants of Gregoria also retain their native Gregoriasun language while also speaking English outside of their home lands.

Religion

Freedom of Religion is not supported by the government of Gregoria but, the government does support Buddhism as it also has official monasteries situated in many places in Gregoria where Buddhists may practice their religion.

Transport

Gregoria doesn't have many roads but people also drive, the people drive on the left side of the road and it doesn't have much roads or highways. Gregoria only has very few official airports and often travelers or citizens will have to take a boat to certain islands. Transit is also another form of transportation in Gregoria as railways are popular and often go through underground tunnels to reach other islands.

Culture

Gregoria and its peoples have many festivities and are open to sharing them with other travelers, as Gregoria has native rituals on certain islands that are performed once a week. The official anthem of Gregoria is "Lachuku ty kladfi, lachuku ty uui" and it's sung all across Gregoria, and it is sung at many live sports events and often performed as an encore from music artists of Gregoria. Gregorian poetry is often a well known form of art in Gregoria, as is music (which is also a widespread art form).
