Pope Leo XIV

Pope Leo XIV aka Dr Gabriel Leo Barclay was the head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of the Vatican City and Malta. He became the third pope after Pope Pius XVI in 2021. Leo became known as "Pope Emeritus" upon his resignation and still retains the title. Pope Young I succeeded the position of pope, who is the current head of the Catholic Church, the bishop of Rome and sovereign of the Vatican City.

Leo XIV was given the position of supreme pontiff[1] (pontifex maximus or summus pontifex), Roman pontiff (Romanus pontifex) or sovereign pontiff, is the bishop of Rome (or historically the patriarch of Rome), head of the Catholic Church, and has also served as the head of state or sovereign of the Papal States and later Rome since the eighth century. From a Catholic viewpoint, the primacy of the bishop of Rome is largely derived from his role as the apostolic successor to Saint Peter[2], to whom primacy was conferred by Jesus, who gave Peter the Keys of Heaven and the powers of "binding and loosing", naming him as the "rock" upon which the Church would be built.

Priesthood

Dr Gabriel Barclay left the Vindex Health Department for his lifetime mission, after the summoning of God the Holy Father in Seawall Church. He was appointed as the pontifical guard by Pope Pius XVI. Father Gabriel was give the catholic name ''Leo'' by H.H. Pope Pius XVI in the Roman seminary. He was later awarded Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St. Gregory the Great (GCSG) by Pope Pius XVI due his service to the stability of Rome. Father Gabriel Barclay was sent to Vinish to continue the service of God under Pope Emeritus Young I management.

In 2020, Dr Gabriel Barclay (the Bishop of Vinish) was appointed as Bishop of Rome by Pope Pius XVI. During his time as the bishop of Rome, Gabriel renovated the altar of St. Peter's Basilica and the old Papal Palace (which was later removed). He appointed several priests in his office and held several festive masses in Seawall Church and Hagia Sophia. On May 2020, Bishop Barclay was appointed as cardinal of Vinish and was awarded the Supreme Order of Christ by H.H. Pope Pius XVI.

On the 26th of June 2020, after the retirement of Pope Pius XVI. Cardinal Gabriel Barclay was appointed and succeeded to the seat of pope. The new pope chose 'Leo' as the name, because of Sanctus Leo I, he admired the Saint's contributions to the church. On 15th September, Leo XIV celebrated the Papal Inauguration mass in St Peter's Basilica, Rome. He prayed in his inauguration mass,

'' Dear brothers and sisters, after the great Pope Pius XVI, the Cardinals recognised me, a simple, humble labourer in the vineyard of the Lord. The fact that the Lord knows how to work and to act even with insufficient instruments comforts me, and above all, I entrust myself to your prayers. In the joy of the Risen Lord, confident of his unfailing help, let us move forward. The Lord will help us, and Mary, His Most Holy Mother, will be on our side. Thank you.''

On the 10th of July, Leo XIV opened the Holy Doors in St Peter's Basilica, he declare the Jubilee Year of Mercy. Pope Leo XIV resigned from the position of Supreme Pontiff on the 8th of August 2020, he shall remain as Leo XIV remained as "Bishop of Rome, Cardinal Camerlengo, Successor of Saint Peter". On the 11th of September 2020, the Consul of Rome, Nicholas Romanov and fellow leader was banned. Leo XIV as the acting Cardinal chamberlain, announced the Papal National Emergency Order of Rome and it expired on the 15th of September 2020. After 1 month, He crowned the former Pope Pius XVI as the Prince Regnant of Rome in St. Peter's Basilica.

On the 10th of October 2022, H.H. Pope Young I was elected by The College of Cardinals and succeeds as the 4th Pope of Rome. Leo XIV retained the title of Pontiff Emeritus.

Pope Emeritus

Since the succession of Pope Young I, Pope Emeritus Leo XIV moved out of the Papal Palace in Rome and currently resides in The Barclay family House. On the 1st of February, Pope Emeritus became the 1st Chancellor of the Pontifical College of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome.

The official form of address of the pope in English is His Holiness Pope Emeritus Leo XIV; in Latin, Leo, Episcopus Romae. Holy Father is among the other honorifics used for popes.
