James Worthington "Jim" Gordon (JimGordon) was the 25th Attorney General of Vindex Nation who served under Presidents Kidey Barclay and Leo Laff. He also served as Police Chief and Head Detective and was awarded Best Police Officer in the 2022 Vindex Awards.

Gordon was first recruited by the Vindex Police Department in June of 2020 as a detective under the leadership of former Head Detective, Bututt, who he grew a close relationship with over the course of his professional career. Upon his retirement, Bututt gifted Gordon the magnifying glass that he would continue to carry over the course of his career. After Bututt's retirement, Gordon continued to serve as a detective under a multitude of different leaders until his eventual promotion to Head Detective nearly a year later.

Head Detective

Gordon's term as Head Detective was largely focused on the revitalization of the department. Under his leadership, the Criminal Investigations Division grew substantially and was re-merged into a singular division, after having been split into two units by former Head Detective, Zackary Lander; whom Gordon had served under previously as the head of his Major Crimes Unit. Gordon was known for his hands-on leadership style, which would become all the more relevant during his term as Attorney General. During this time, Gordon also became known for having a connection to the Vigilantes, most notably the vigilante known as the "Batman." It's unknown how, or to what extent Gordon and Batman collaborated, but it caused Gordon to fall under heavy political fire for the rest of his career. Gordon would also begin to develop a severe smoking addiction, likely due to the continued stress of his work.

Police Chief

After the end of his term as Head Detective, it wasn't long before Gordon would receive his next position. Under former Attorney General, Albert Viktor, Gordon was appointed to the position of Police Chief under the condition that he would allow the runner-up, Zackary Lander, to be one of his deputies. Gordon appointed Randy Wrangler and Linda Park as his second and third deputies and accepted the position. Gordon's tenure as Police Chief was centered around bringing the department together. Gordon planned on reintroducing all of the unused police stations and designating departments their own station for them to operate.

Gordon as Police Chief.

Gordon would often be seen alongside his officers in the public and would rarely be behind a desk. Randy Wrangler once described Gordon's leadership style as "reminiscent of leading troops into battle." While many viewed this as a strength, others viewed it as one of Gordon's political shortcomings, especially when he was appointed to Attorney General. When Gordon felt he was ready to move on and that someone else would better serve the position, Gordon resigned as Police Chief with the intention of retiring from the Vindex Police Department.

Attorney General

Though he had plans on retiring, when he received a phone call from former President of Vindex Nation, Kidey Barclay, asking if he would join his cabinet as the Attorney General succeeding Gargathe Oro, he couldn't refuse. With Taylor Collins as his Police Chief, Gordon accepted the position of Attorney General on January 2nd of 2022.

Over the course of his term, Gordon enacted several policies that many political historians consider to be somewhat questionable. Gordon's first order of business was to install a large floodlight atop the roof of the Department of Justice Headquarters. This was discovered several months later by Attorney General John Smith to be a signal to the vigilante, Batman. Outraged, Smith destroyed it and sent the "bat-signal" to the vigilantes in a box.

After the resignation of Taylor Collins as Police Chief, Gordon struggled to find a suitable replacement. Gordon's solution was to temporarily merge the two positions and take on the roles of both Police Chief and Attorney General under the title of Commissioner. To this day, he remains the only official ever to do so.

Gordon's term as Commissioner was so well received that he was approved to continue after Kidey Barclay resigned from office under Leo Laff, however his term was cut short by a heart attack that left Gordon confined to a hospital bed. In his last act as Commissioner, Gordon appointed Nick Delacour to Police Chief, as to not leave the department without leadership.

Later Life

Gordon being appointed as Attorney General by former President of Vindex Nation, Kidey Barclay.

Gordon spent the last few months of his life in and out of a hospital bed with his daughter, Barbara Gordon, by his side along with her now husband, Richard Grayson. Gordon was very comfortable in his last moments and the family never had to take on any debt from his treatments due to substantial donations from Grayson's surrogate father, Bruce Wayne. On February 20th, 2022, Gordon was awarded Best Police Officer at the annual Vindex Awards. On April 10th, 2022, James Gordon passed away in his uptown home after a long battle with lung cancer due to a career of smoking. His funeral was held on the grounds of Wayne Manor in Gallifrey.
