The Vindex Department of State is an executive department in the V.N. Government and is led by the Secretary of State. It was reestablished by Executive Order 3 of the Scott Administration on January 4, 2025.
Purpose
The purpose of the Department of State is to manage Vindex Nation's foreign affairs and ensure national security, foster economic prosperity, advance democratic values, and provide consular services to Vinish citizens.
Responsibilities
Below are a list of responsibilities of the Department of State:
- Manage Vinish embassies and consulates, representing Vindex Nation in foreign nations and conducting diplomatic relations with foreign governments.
- Provide services to Vinish citizens domestically and internationally, including issuing passports, providing emergency assistance, and support in other legal matters or crises.
- Prepare travel advice for the Vinish public regularly.
- Coordinate with other executive departments and agencies, including but not limited to the Department of Defense, the Department of Commerce, and the Vindex Intelligence Agency, to ensure alignment of foreign policy objectives with national security and economic goals.
- Ensure that Vinish and foreign embassies and consulates adhere to strict applicable laws, regulations and rules.
Department of Commerce Merger
On January 5th, 2025, President Derek Scott issued an executive order to merge the Department of State and Department of Commerce. This executive order transferred all responsibilities and obligations of the Department of Commerce to the Department of State and established the Institute of Economic and Business Affairs within the State Department with the oversight of the Secretary of State.

Institute of Economic and Business Affairs
On January 5, 2025, President Derek Scott issued an executive order establishing the Institute of Economic and Business Affairs (IEBA) within the Department of State. The purpose of this institute is to be responsible for continued execution of economic policies and affairs and absorb all functions of the Department of Commerce.
