The area of modern-day Valaysia has been inhabited by farmers for a few years and in that time, a small road system and buildings had been developed. Rich in natural resources, the exports of primary products (sugar cane and tin) and manufactured products (alcohol and pottery) caused the establishment of the Valaysian Chartered Company (VCC) by the colonial government in order to capitalise on this natural advantage with Governor Boathoven acting as the first President. The influx of high-skilled labour from Vindex Nation to manage the VCC meant that the demand for luxury goods and services rose. The Governor of Valaysia was the appointed head of the government of Valaysia. Since its inception, the Governor of Valaysia has been an appointee of the President of Vindex Nation.
