Gordon was first recruited by the Vindex Police Department in June of 2020 as a detective under the leadership of former Head Detective, Bututt, who he grew a close relationship with over the course of his professional career. Upon his retirement, Bututt gifted Gordon the magnifying glass that he would continue to carry over the course of his career. After Bututt's retirement, Gordon continued to serve as a detective under a multitude of different leaders until his eventual promotion to Head Detective nearly a year later.

Though he had plans on retiring, when he received a phone call from former President of Vindex Nation, Kidey Barclay, asking if he would join his cabinet as the Attorney General succeeding Gargathe Oro, he couldn't refuse. With Taylor Collins as his Police Chief, Gordon accepted the position of Attorney General on January 2nd of 2022.

Over the course of his term, Gordon enacted several policies that many political historians consider to be somewhat questionable. Gordon's first order of business was to install a large floodlight atop the roof of the Department of Justice Headquarters. This was discovered several months later by Attorney General John Smith to be a signal to the vigilante, Batman. Outraged, Smith destroyed it, and sent the "bat-signal" to the vigilantes in a box.
