On September 15, 2021, Doughnut Sprinkles created the Doughnut News Discord server, which began as a joke. News reports would consist of a single sentence summarizing the event in question. After amassing nearly 20 people on the first day, support from the inaugural audience began to build. What Sprinkles intended to be a joke to last a day quickly became a sensation in the community, and began to expand and establish itself as a worthy competitor in the news industry.
